FAMILY LAW  • DIVORCE  • CHILD CUSTODY  • COLLABORATIVE LAW ATTORNEY

joan

Many people think of family law as complicated and confrontational. But that need not be the case. For the past twelve years, my law practice has helped hundreds of families go through divorce or divorce mediation; resolve child custody, child support, or visitation disputes and build workable relationships; enforce or change orders and protect children's safety; grow through adoption; and reach their goals. Contact me, attorney Joan A. Moo Young to discuss your family’s needs.

For clients in the divorce process, I am a family law attorney trained in Collaborative Law – an alternative dispute resolution method that supports the couple in reaching a mutually agreeable solution without the time, expense, and hurt feelings that often result from litigation. If you choose the Collaborative Law process, a variety of resources, such as child development specialists, therapists, accountants, and other experts, can be available to assist with the financial and emotional aspects of the divorce process.

  • A good family law attorney can greatly ease the confusion, frustration, even hostility that a person may be feeling when they are in the difficult process of a divorce.
  • When families are disrupted because of custody disputes, child support disagreements, or parenting time issues, a trusted family lawyer can protect you, point you in the direction of needed services and effective dispute resolution techniques, and help you ensure that these difficulties do not unduly interrupt your own or your kids’ lives.
  • An effective trial attorney can help you enforce child support or spousal maintenance orders, help protect you and your children from domestic violence, restore denied visitation, or fight to modify orders when circumstances have substantially changed.
  • A good adoption lawyer can help parents achieve their dream of adding a child to their family through adoption.

Contact me if you are seeking a family lawyer or divorce attorney who will truly listen and work with you in a cooperative partnership to address your concerns and meet your goals. I work with other attorneys trained in collaborative law to help divorcing spouses develop an agreement that works for everyone.

My law office is conveniently located just five minutes from the Westchester County Courthouse and 10 minutes from highways 684 and 287, near the Westchester Mall. You will find ample parking nearby. Evening and weekend hours are available by appointment. I operate on retainer, and will work with you to develop a payment plan that works for you.

I provide family law services to clients in all cities and towns in Westchester and Putnam counties in New York State, including White Plains, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mt. Vernon, Yorktown, Peakskill, and Goshen.
