Joan A. Moo Young, Attorney at Law, received her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1982, and was admitted to the New York and Connecticut bars in 1987. Joan began her legal career as an associate litigation attorney in private Westchester County law firms. She subsequently worked as a public interest lawyer, prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases for the City of New York in New York City’s Corporation Counsel. After half a decade of rigorous public prosecution work, Joan opened her Law Practice in White Plains in 1993. Since then, Joan has served hundreds of families in New York and Westchester Counties as a solo practitioner, providing competent, effective and expert legal representation in all areas of Family Law and in Divorce.

Joan A. Moo Young, Attorney at Law has invested substantial resources in formal training in all areas of Mediation and Collaborative Law as she is committed to giving clients and parties the best opportunity for success in whichever process they choose. Joan’s Mediation training includes various approaches to Mediation, including Evaluative, Facilitative Problem Solving, Transformative, Narrative, Non-Violent Communication and Understanding Based Mediation. She has also received training sponsored by the NY Office of Court Administration, and she volunteers as a Community Mediator in the Small Claims Courts of Westchester County. Joan has been a member of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals since 2004. Joan attends the annual educational conferences of various Mediation and Collaborative Law organizations. Joan serves as an Arbitrator in Fee Disputes Arbitration for the Supreme Court of the State of New York 9th Judicial District.

Joan Moo Young, Attorney at Law represents Divorcing clients in the New York Supreme Courts in New York City, Westchester and Rockland Counties. She represents clients in Family Court matters in New York City, Westchester and Rockland Counties’ Family Courts, and in the Small Claims Courts throughout Westchester County.
